NEW YORK, NY— Eight speakers will offer expert outlooks and identify trends for the copper industry in 2005, on December 9 at the New York Helmsley Hotel. The forum is presented by the Copper Development Association and American Metal Market. David Heuther, chief economist of the National Association of Manufacturers, keynotes the program with "The Current Conditions and Outlook for Manufacturing and the Economy."
The Forum agenda includes a look at the "Trends, Opportunities and Challenges in the U.S. Plumbing Tube Market" by Jim Olsztynski, editorial director of Plumbing & Mechanical Magazine. Simon Hunt, president of Simon Hunt Strategic Services, will talk on "China's Copper and Copper Alloy Semis Industry."
A panel of speakers, led by Dr. Harold Michels, CDA vice president of technical and information services, will explore copper's potential role related to "Bacterial and Mycotic Diseases and Their Prevention." The distinguished panel includes: Dr. Robert Gravani, director of the Department of Food Science at Cornell University, "Today's Food Safety Issues;" Dr. Michael Doyle, director of the Center for Food Safety at the University of Georgia, "Reducing the Occurrence of Foodborne Illnesses;" and Dr. J. Todd Weber, director of the Office of Antimicrobial Resistance at the CDC National Centers for Infections Diseases, "The Public Health Response: The Federal Interagency Task Force on Antimicrobial Resistance.
