FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK, NY-The Copper Development Association (CDA) announced today that Zolaikha Strong has been made a Director of Sustainable Electrical Energy in the Market Development Group. In this capacity, Strong will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the growth of the use of copper in electrical energy systems.
"Ms. Strong is an expert in the energy field," said Andy Kireta Jr., vice president of building and construction for the Copper Development Association. "She brings to CDA a deep knowledge and experience dealing with the energy regulatory system. We are confident that she will be a vital player in making sustainable electrical development a reality."
Before joining CDA, Strong was the Manager of Federal Regulatory Affairs in the Energy Delivery group with Edison Electric Institute in Washington, D.C. While with the Edison Electric Institute, Strong represented the association's members before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy and Congress on energy delivery and smart grid matters. Prior to this, Strong was an Energy Analyst with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
In her new role at CDA, Strong will be responsible for supporting activities with a number of different stakeholders. This will include supporting policy makers with the creation and enforcement of favorable energy policies and regulations; managing coalitions with sustainable energy advocates; partnering with manufacturers to quicken the use of new electrical energy technologies; and communicating to consumers the benefits of copper solutions in energy-efficient systems.
Strong's prior experience in the energy field made her the most qualified candidate for this position. CDA is excited for the added value she will bring to the organization, and the positive impact she will have on the development of sustainable electrical energy.
