Brazing & Soldering Training Program

This seminar focuses on the theory and practice necessary for the installation of copper piping systems. Emphasis will be on copper and copper alloy tube and fittings and how these materials are used in a piping system. The seminar will include information about standards and applications of copper and copper alloy tube and fittings and the materials and steps involved in making consistent, high quality soldered and brazed joints. We will also discuss ways to identify and avoid several common causes of failure of copper piping systems. This seminar will be presented by one of the Project Managers for the CDA.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

I. Introduction

  1. CDA: What is CDA and what is its purpose?
  2. Purpose of the seminar

II. Copper Standards

  1. Copper and Copper Alloy Tube: discussion of different types of copper alloy tube, their applications, the applicable standards and the requirements of those standards
  2. Copper and Copper Alloy Fittings: discussion of different types of copper alloy fittings, their applications, the applicable standards and the requirements of those standards

III. Joining Techniques
